The curvilinear slide does far more than can be described quickly. It is a slide rest unit that replaces the top slide of a Hardinge cross slide. It has an additional traverse slide that is devoid the lead screw allowing it to slide in and out by means of a spring while it follows an interchangeable template. It can produce any shape within its range. It also has an auto advance with tops allowing for long run set ups to operate without operator assistance stopping before it interferes with the chuck or other parts that do not need to be cut. It will also serve as part number two of three that will constitute the spiral chuck. It comes with the pulleys and belts for doing both internal and external cuts.
