Large Eccentric Cutter (ECF)

Cutting Frames

For producing a variety of cutting options to suit different projects.

This is a larger version of the ECF of Fred Armbruster’s design that we have produced for years.  It can reach to 3″ in diameter and employ cutters of 1/8″, 3/16″, and 1/4″.

It comes standard with a short and long tool holding block in each of these sizes.  The larger tool has the advantage of mass and produces less tool chatter; however, it does not replace the smaller tool for smaller work.  While larger and more stable the tool must be well balanced. This can be quickly obtained with some practice.  The extra tool holders are used to accomplish balance.  It’s also not recommended to run this tool at speeds over 1500 RPM’s.  It comes standard with an 8MM collet compatible shank but other sizes can be made upon request for a nominal cost.
